Flights to Bali resume post ash cloud

Jetstar, Virgin and Tigerair all resumes flights to and from Bali today after services were cancelled yesterday after a volcanic ash cloud grounded planes.

The decision to cancel flights to and from Denpasar Airport came after information from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre revealed Mount Rinjani, near Lombok, began rumbling and ejecting ash into the atmosphere the previous day.

Jetstar released a statement saying they were looking at what additional flights can be scheduled to get people to their destinations.

The timing could not be worse as the school holidays are in full swing and the airline networks are extremely busy at this time of the year.

Any passengers booked on flights to or from Bali are advised to check with their airline for the latest up to date information.
