A new agreement with Flight Centre will see Air Niugini attempt to grow interest in travel to Papua New Guinea from Australia – already the carrier’s largest market.

The preferred partner agreement will ensure the airline is well represented in Australia, according to chief executive Simon Foo.

“We trust that with Flight Centre’s large network, it should be able to extensively sell and promote Air Niugini brand, PNG tourism and reach out to a larger network of corporate travellers in Australia,” he said

PNG Tourism Promotion Authority sales and marketing director Australia Andrew Cavallaro described the development as a “fantastic milestone” for the national airline.

“As a key partner of Papua New Guinea Tourism Pormotion Authority in the promotion of tourism to PNG, we commend Air Niugini on their efforts in securing this agreement with Flight Centre,” he said.

“We invite all Flight Centre ahents to leverage this new agreement and become PNG Wantok specialists.”
