Flamingo sauntering across runway holds up EasyJet flight

Footage of a flamingo strutting down the runway of a Spanish airport has emerged, delighting the internet and no doubt frustrating the pilots of the plane stuck behind it.

An EasyJet flight which had just landed at Palma Airport in the Spanish Island of Mallorca was held up while taxiing to its gate because of the majestic bird, who was slowly strolling along the runway.

An airport worker posted a video of the ordeal to Twitter, which shows the plane slowly following the bird, and can be heard honking its horn. The plane, that is. Not the flamingo.

“A pink flamingo this morning welcomed in the passengers arriving at Palma Airport. Very elegant,” the caption reads.

A spokesperson for EasyJet told Fox news the incident did not cause any delays and the passengers remained safe.

The department of wildlife control was called to remove the flamingo, but it reportedly flew away before they arrived.
