Couple’s lost GoPro turns into the adventure of a lifetime

Couple’s lost GoPro turns into the adventure of a lifetime

Six months ago, a Dutch couple went travelling and lost their GoPro in the sea, four months later, this GoPro washed up on Surfers Paradise beach in Queensland and was found by one of the locals, Tamara Johansen.

Johansen played back the footage and saw that the couple had been exploring the world. From snowboarding escapades to swimming with seals, the GoPro contained plenty of footage depicting the myriad of adventures this couple had been on.

Photographs are often the only way we can cling onto our memories, and thankfully this woman wasn’t prepared to let this happy couple lose theirs forever. The local Queenslander made it her personal mission to reach out to the internet with the photos from the GoPro to start a worldwide search for the Dutch couple.

The search went across Australia, to the UK, America and the Netherlands before someone found the happy couple in Bali. Just when the couple thought their luck was up, Leezair and Holden decided to reunite the couple with their GoPro by providing them with an all-expenses paid trip up to the Gold Coast from Victoria, making it a journey to remember.

Alex Malone couldn’t believe her luck, saying “I can’t believe something so unfortunate as losing our GoPro has turned into this incredible road trip of a lifetime!”

This road trip includes a 15,000ft Tandem Skydiving experience in Canberra; an Eat/Drink/Walk Bar Tour around Sydney; a Sunrise Breakfast and Kayaking Tour under the Sydney Harbour Bridge; a 1hour quad bike adventure on the Dunes in Newcastle; and a Snorkelling experience with the turtles in Tweed Head.

Leezair is excited to be able to support this couple in their venture to get their GoPro back.

Angus Vidor, founder of Leezair, said “This experience goes hand in hand with Leezair’s core values, which emphasise the journey and experience. We hope to be able to bring a happy ending to this couple’s search, by giving them a trip to remember.”

This happy couple embark on this journey starting today. Once they reach the Gold Coast to thank the honest local in person, they will return home to Melbourne on Friday the 7th of October.
