UTracks’ eight-day self guided Sarria to Santiago walk is priced from $1150 per person and includes breakfast daily, 6 dinners, accommodation in comfortable hotels and farmhouse B&Bs, luggage transfers, route notes, maps and guidebook plus the Pilgrim Passport to be stamped along the way.

Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent has released details of its fourth planned expedition traversing the entire navigable Northwest Passage, making A&K one of the most experienced operators in the region. The journey is on board the exclusively chartered, all-balcony ‘Le Boreal’ and explores the Arctic alongside A&K’s award-winning Expedition Team ensuring a deeply enriching and captivating journey.
Travelling the legendary seas from Greenland to the Canadian Arctic to the Bering Sea and ending in Alaska the journey follows in the footsteps of the world’s most intrepid explorers on a voyage expertly designed to meet the highest standards in luxury, adventure and safety.
Along the way visits are made to historic and remote islands, iceberg-strewn fjords and Inuit villages and relives the moving stories of voyages won and lives lost, all in the name of conquering a trade route between the Atlantic and Pacific.
The expedition explores the west coast of Greenland, with opportunities to meet local Inuits in their homes or alongside their dog-sled teams, visiting a traditional hunting village and learning the art of leather tanning. Geological wonders abound too from the “Smoking Hills” of Franklin Bay to the dramatic Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with icebergs. The route through the Northwest Passage follows in the steps of the great polar explorers with stops along the way that may include Beechy Island, Franklin Camp, Fort Ross and Gjoa Haven. The rarely visited Yukon Territory is another highlight, where whaling once thrived and an abundance of wildlife still reigns supreme and finally the spectacular Northern Lights will be a treat to remember.

Leave the world behind: Kamchatka, Kuril Islands and the Russian Far East
World Expeditions has launched a new cruise amongst the volcanoes of Russia’s far east, in a region that was ‘off limits’ to western visitors until a few years ago.
The Russian Far East remains one of the last unexplored places on Earth – so if you are looking to leave the world behind, you can choose one of the following three trips that visit the remote Kuril Islands, one of the most difficult places to reach on Earth.
- NEW >>> Russia’s Ring of Fire – Kuril Islands
A new cruising expedition that explores one of the most geologically active and biologically rich parts of the planet: the large number of live volcanoes on the Kamchatka Peninsula and along the Kuril Islands has earned this part of the world the reputation of the Pacific’s ‘Ring of Fire’. The trip focuses on the region’s extraordinary biodiversity, spending a week at the remote Kuril Islands, which stretches across the Bering Sea between Russia and Japan. - ON FOOT >>> Kamchatka Expedition
Fire meets ice at the Kamchatka Peninsula, the most volcanic area of the Eurasian continent – the land here is still being formed! Overall Kamchatka has 159 volcanoes (six of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites) so there is almost always one active cone erupting. This remote trek is designed for those who have been everywhere else and prefer to get well off the beaten path. - SAILING >>> Jewel of the Russian Far East
This journey presents the unique opportunity of travelling down the entire coastline of the Russian Far East along Koryak and Kamchatka – eight time zones away from Moscow, this is where the day begins in Russia! A land rugged and off the beaten track, the peninsula’s isolation has helped protect a healthy and stable wildlife population, which has adapted to this extremely harsh environment.
