Shoal Bay Holiday Park’s new safari tents take the hassle out of camping
Shoal Bay Holiday Park’s new permanent safari tents are open for bookings, offering a comfortable camping experience just 100 metres from the blue, dolphin-filled waters of Port Stephens.
The eight spacious canvas tents with ensuite bathrooms offer families and busy couples the thrill of camping without the hassle of packing and setting up tents and camping gear. Each of the tents can sleep up to six people, and one ‘easy access’ tent is fitted to cater for guests with mobility issues. Large undercover decks and a shared BBQ dining area make the safari tent precinct a perfect place for family and social get-togethers.
To mark the opening, Shoal Bay Holiday Park is offering a special three-day weekend deal. Guests can stay Thursday to Saturday or Friday to Sunday nights and pay $410 for two adults, with up to four children under 18 free. The deal is valid from October 3 to December 25, 2016, and January 30 to April 12, 2017. The offer is available until sold out.
The spacious and stylish tent precinct is just a 100m stroll from Shoal Bay Beach and shadowed by Tomaree Headland which boasts spectacular views over Port Stephens’ rugged coastline and offshore islands. Port Stephens also offers a range of activities and attractions, including dolphin cruises, parasailing, bushwalking, fishing, a large koala population and the biggest sand dunes in Australia.
Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels crafts a new visual identity to strengthen its position and brand transversality
On the eve of its 65th anniversary, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels adopts a new image and brand architecture. A landmark brand in the hospitality landscape of the Indian Ocean, the Group strengthens its position to reveal its very essence.
At the core of a tourism industry which enjoys the benefits of a virtuous circle, Beachcomber is experiencing, like other market players, an upturn that affords an optimistic outlook on the future. Building on this positive background, with an increase in operating profits and a will to embrace foreign development, the Group reinforces its position.
Tapping on this situation, Beachcomber engages itself in a project aiming at creating a new image that will reveal its values and involve all its teams, far beyond the scope of a mere logo change.
Beachcomber has chosen the symbol of the nautilus because its name, “Beachcomber”, stands for “one who collects the treasures the sea has left on the shore”. With its letter “B” in central position, it also represents a sun sign enhanced by the flow of the water on the sand.
Beachcomber therefore acquires a new visual identity and develops a new business project around the concept of “The Art of Beautiful”.
Queenstown resort Oaks Shores celebrates 10th anniversary with multi-million dollar makeover
Queenstown resort Oaks Shores, located on New Zealand’s popular South Island, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style, unveiling a modern $1.8 million accommodation makeover to mark the occasion.
Set on the banks of Lake Wakatipu and overlooking the famous, snow-capped Remarkables mountain ranges, Oaks Shores has rejuvenated its entire collection of hotel rooms and apartments over the past six months, presenting guests with a new level of comfort and convenience when visiting the ultimate leisure and adventure playground of Queenstown.
The transformative refurbishment – which extended across the resort’s Hotel Rooms, One, Two and Three Bedroom Courtyard and Lakeview Apartments, and Four Bedroom Penthouses – focused on transforming all guest rooms to reflect a refreshingly simple yet contemporary design, incorporating the natural tones of the property’s picturesque lakeside surroundings.
Six Senses Sets a New Standard in Catching Better ZZZZ’s
Sleep is unreservedly recognized as the most important contributor to an individual’s health. Experts range in their suggestions as to the amount that should be taken, with a rough consensus recommending that at least one third of a person’s life should be dedicated to this most pleasurable of pastimes. And if they are getting the required amount of shut-eye, they may not be getting the optimum quality.
Sadly, too many people put up with a less than desirable sleeping environment. Poor quality mattresses and bed linens, sound pollution that distracts from the goal at hand and lighting that hinders the effort contribute to restless nights followed by stressful days. Even attempts to count sheep can be an obstacle if the mind becomes active and separates the flock into colours and gender, or indeed the whole flock has passed over the fence before sleep has occurred!
East Hotel wins best suite/apartment hotel at the 2016 AHA National Awards for Excellence
East Hotel has won Best Suite/Apartment Hotel in Australia at the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) 2016 National Awards for Excellence. The winners from each category were applauded by hotel industry leaders, hoteliers, special guests and parliamentarians who attended the special evening at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast to celebrate all aspects of Australia’s vibrant hotel and hospitality sector.
“The fact that we have won this award for the third time within our four years of existence speaks volumes of our well-thought-out physical product and even more of the experience aspect provided by my entire team at East,” said General Manager Todd Handy.
“We have a proud team that truly believes in how they all contribute to the guest experience, our place within the local community and our importance as ambassadors of the Canberra Region. With new hotels constantly opening up within Canberra and around Australia, it truly is an honour to be recognised with this Award and I know the team will be aiming to take it out again next year.”
