Aussies prompted to tie the knot in Ireland

Tourism Ireland is wasting no time in nabbing the lucrative LGBT wedding and honeymoon market, launching a new “I do” campaign.

After last week’s majority vote legalising gay marriage, Tourism Ireland has already begun targeting the LGBT community around the world, including Australia, with a new video campaign.

The campaign targets a further eight source markets including the USA, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Scandinavia, and showcases various destinations suitably romantic to host an LGBT wedding.

It also covers The Outing, the world’s first ever same-sex matchmaking festival.

“Ireland boasts some of the most dreamily romantic locations to tie the knot in the world,” Tourism Ireland stated.

“And YES, your big day will make your heart sing.”

The tourism board are reportedly also conducting targeted advertising on Facebook directing visitors to a new section on its website featuring wedding locations, bars and clubs.
