APT will be hosting a nationwide series of travel expos in October. Each event will feature destination and product overviews presented by APT. The events are free of charge to attend and locations and dates can be found here.

According to APT commercial manager, Susan Haberle, the events are a great opportunity for agents to send their clients along to in order to ensure they have access to everything they need to know about APT’s product.

 

Tahiti Tourisme has announced that its destination guides are now available online. The brochures include guides on diving and yachting as well as the latest travel planner.

Tahiti Tourisme Australia director Robert Thompson said the online editions were a great resource for agents wanting quick and easy access to the most up-to-date information on Tahiti.

Travelmarvel has announced some incentives to help travel agents secure early bookings on its Mekong program for 2015/16.’

Not only will the 2015/16 Vietnam and Cambodia river cruising program be sold at the 2014/15 prices, Travelmarvel is helping agents secure early bookings by offering travel a free executive package, for the first 100 river cruise bookings.

The offer includes: two laundered and one pressed item daily; two bottles of red wine from the onboard wine list; and two massages for the cruise.

 

Travel Counsellors has launched its first ever dedicated cruise brochure to coincide with National Cruise Week. The 20-page brochure features offers from over 20 cruise lines and is available in both print and digital format.

In addition, the company has also produced daily training webcasts, consumer product videos, plus a range of cruise e-cards and other offers. Travel Counsellors country manager, Tracy Parkinson has said, “As demand for cruising holidays continues to grow we’ve embraced National Cruise Week as the ideal opportunity to provide our agents with the tools they need to set themselves apart from the competition.”

 

Urban Adventures is partnering with global transportation provider Uber for Uber’s launch in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Anyone who books an Urban Adventures tour in Ho Chi Minh City will receive a free ride with Uber while in town. Urban Adventures’ general manager Tony Carne said, “We at Urban Adventures are really big fans of Uber all over the world and use them ourselves when we are travelling. The mix of safe, clean and convenient makes Uber the best choice, particularly if you are unsure of a place and its taxi system.”

 

Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further unite their efforts in promoting Dubai’s cultural and heritage tourism offerings and implement the emirate’s vision and strategy.

The agreement includes plans to leverage the expertise of each entity in developing programmes and events to promote cultural and heritage tourism. It also includes the development of training programmes for tour guides with a focus on Dubai’s culture, arts and heritage offerings as well as promoting these offerings internationally through DTCM’s global network of overseas offices.

Helen Wong’s Tours have release a new series of packaged group tours to Indochina for a 12-day Discover Vietnam tour from Australia.

Each tour features in an eight-page mini brochure for 2015, a one-off series featuring Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar as well as Vietnam. Helen Wong’s Tours ‘founder and managing director Helen Wong said, “We wanted to create an exciting program for budget conscious guests and we achieved that without detracting from our usual quality of tours and accommodation.”
