Experience Oz has claimed a national first with the launch of a fully functional Chinese site, providing the valuable source market with access to more than 2000 tours, activities and expereinces across Australia and New Zealand.

The site was developed over 18 months with the assistance of two Chinese specialists. It will automatically detect the native language setting of the computer or mobuile device used to access it.

 

The Tourism Industry Council NSW has moved its office to North Sydney to become part of the New South Wales Business Chamber.

Accor has grown its Canberra hotel network to five properties with the rebadging of the Rydges Canberra Eagle Hawk Resort as Ibis Styles Eagle Hawk.

The 151-room property, now named Ibis Styles is located 10 minutes from Canberra CBD and 11km from Canberra Airport.

 

A new brochure highlighting the benefits of winter holidays in China has been released by Wendy Wu Tours.

The firm's managing director, Alan Alcock, said the new offering follows consumer requests for tours departing in school holidays and for those which coincide with Chinese New Year in late January.

The nine-day Chinese New Year package visits Beijing, Xian and Shanghai and is priced from $2675.

 

Travel Indochina has launched a Vietnam Travel Writing Tour itinerary featuring tuition from award-winning travel writer Rob McFarland.

The 12-day tour includes four days of tuition and seven days covering areas across Vietnam.

It is limited to four departures in March 2013 with a maximum 16 travellers per journey and is priced from $3635.

 

Emirates has confirmed it will commence a daily Airbus A380 service from Dubai to Mauritius from December 16 in the wake of its special one-off A380 flight to the destination in March.

 

The private island of Virgin boss Richard Branson, Necker Island, will see the completion of its new Great House in September following an extensive two-year restructure after a fire destroyed the original.

The island is available for exclusive hire for up to 30 adults.
