Members get more with DaoDao
By admin

As part of its ‘Members Get More’ campaign, Marriott Rewards is partnering up with DaoDao, the official Chinese website of TripAdvisor, to give Chinese travellers access to new search capabilities through WeChat.

Members will be able to access DaoDao content through Marriot Rewards’ WeChat platform on a leading mobile messenger app for Chinese smartphone users.

The enhanced functions developed by DaoDao allow members to perform location-based searches for nearby attractions and reference global traveler reviews on Marriott International’s hotels and restaurants.

Now, traveller reviews are accessible at the touch of a button, as well as the opportunity to write their own reviews directly on Marriot Rewards’ WeChat account, which is automatically posted on DaoDao.

The enhanced functions will provide greater mobility, localisation and convenience for technology-savvy consumers and next generation Chinese travellers, as well as giving consumers the tools to make better travel decisions.

With over 400 million active monthly users, WeChat combines the functions of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Face-Time, eBay marketplace, Weibo and Line, providing an entirely new experience of unique functions for Members Rewards guests.

“Marriott International is focused on improving the entire travel experience for our customers around the world,” Marriott International Asia Pacific’s chief sales & marketing officer Peggy Fang Roe said.

“We want our travelers to have a great stay that goes beyond the time they spend in the rooms.  We aspire to help travelers connect to the local area, experience great food and discover new things everywhere they go.”

TripAdvisor China’s senior director for strategic partnership and account management Ming Zhu said that this tool is critical, as no one leaves for a holiday without their phones.

“Travellers are still in planning mode when they are in a single destination, using their smartphones to find things to do, as well as places to eat and stay,” Zhu said.

“We are delighted to partner with Marriott International to enable Marriot Rewards members to find the best of what’s nearby as well as to contribute reviews of their own.”
