Jetstar takes Melbourne's new T4
By admin

Jetstar has been announced as the anchor tenant for Melbourne Airport’s new domestic terminal four (T4) following double-digit passenger growth.

This will allow the low-cost airline to offer more flights in and out of Melbourne when operations commence from the terminal in 2015.

“This investment and long term agreement will provide us with the airport infrastructure we need to sustain our capacity growth,” Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka said.

Last financial year Jetstar carried more than 5.5 million passengers through Melbourne Airport.

“We’ve seen double digit passenger growth in and out of the port over the past few years,” Hrdlicka said.

T4 will allow Jetstar passengers to walk to and from domestic and international terminals undercover.

“The development of T4 will help us deliver a seamless travel experience for our customers from the time they enter the airport precinct," Hrdlicka said.

The terminal design will include self-service kiosks and bag drop areas on ground floor, near passenger drop-off. On the upper floor there will be a departure lounge with food and retail.
