1700 FLIGHTS CANCELLED DUE TO FRESH STRIKE

Munich, Germany - September 9, 2015: Lufthansa strike note on a information board. Lufthansa strike at munich airport in 2015.
Lufthansa have been forced to cancel a further 1,700 flights over the next two days due to a fresh strike by pilots after failing to reach an agreement on pay.

The German based carrier was forced to cancel almost 2,800 flights including long-haul services, after pilots conducted a four-day walkout that affected more than 350,000 passengers. It marks the 14th strike in a dispute that since early 2014 has cost the carrier hundreds of millions of euros, Reuters reports.

Union Vereinigung Cockpit rejected the latest pay offer from Lufthansa late on Friday, and have announced a strike on short haul services on Tuesday, and both short and long-haul flights on Wednesday, affecting around 180,000 passengers.
