Qantas considers divisional domestic split
By admin

Qantas is reportedly considering splitting its domestic and international arms to attract more foreign investment.

The Australian Financial Review has reported the airline is looking at adopting a similar structure to rival Virgin Australia Holdings.

It said sources had indicated Qantas was looking at the option as part of a structural review of its operations in the wake of heavy losses.

An update on the review is due to be released alongside the airline's full year results in August.

Qantas announced the strategic review in February after posting a first half loss of $252 million.

The airline is attempting to save $2 billion by the 2016/17 financial year and has announced it will axe 5000 jobs.
