What do you get when you spend 14 days taking over 120,000 photos of the Gold Coast? One visually captivating timelapse video.

From waves at Snapper Rocks to 100,000 hectares of enchanting National Parks and reserves, Australia’s Gold Coast Tourism has a working canvas of some insanely beautiful sites.

What a better way to capture the some 56 kilometres of coastline, tropical rainforests and energetic precincts to inspire travel to the vibrant city than a good timelapse video.

Gold Coast Tourism director Ben Pole told Travel Today “the timelapse is a simple effort to capture the amazing Gold Coast experience, just done really well. It is a way to generate awareness, engagement, and demand but ultimately it is just a stunning bit of visual content which we hope people enjoy and share.”

The video has been picked up globally across mainstream media and new media, from television news to bloggers and websites running the video as an inspirational travel piece.

Gold Coast Tourism commissioned internationally recognised cinematographer Joe Capra and the soundtrack is provided by a Gold Coast band Fairchild.

In its first week of release the video generated 200,000 views on YouTube, Vimeo, and other host sites.

The result, to hopefully get your heart yearning for a Gold Coast holiday. Have a look at the video and decide for yourself.
