Christchurch's recovery from the 2011 earthquake will receive a boost next month with the opening of the Rendezvous Hotel.

The 171-room property, which occupies levels four to 15 of the Pacific Tower building on Gloucester Street, will open on May 1 having been closed for more than two years.

Rendezvous Hotel Christchurch general manager Brad Watts said: "The hotel is looking fantastic and we're thrilled to be in a position to re-open again and provide high quality accommodation within the city centre for people visiting for either business or leisure."

To mark the opening, bookings from May 1 will offer 10% off the best available rate of the day "for a limited time".

Rendezvous Hospitality Group chief executive Eric Teng said: "Christchurch is back on track to be one of the best small cities in the world and we are pleased to be part of that."
